On Friday February 9 the calm, healthy, peaceful, verdant, Green of St. Antony’s was interspersed with joyful, raucous, revelling RED in all its shades, as the Staff and Students wore RED for Charity. This was one of our non uniform charity days with collection of £1 from each child being donated to CAFOD. The children were eager to participate, as well as staff ( especially those who wanted to wear their Liverpool, Manchester United , Arsenal, Ajax, and Benfica team Kit).
The day had special significance as the Colour Red is also associated with St Valentine, whose feast we celebrate next week on February 14.
Cedar class shared their assembly theme with us on the virtue of Honesty with an adaptation of the boy who cried wolf. The villagers were RED with anger at his behaviour and the sheep were not pleased either as the Wolf took them off to “Party” with his family.
As it was a Friday assembly we celebrated the Achievers of the Week, as well as the students who had participated and successfully completed the Head start workshop series.
Here are some pictures of the children and staff in their RED attire.
