CELEBRATING 160TH YEAR IN STYLE!! PRAYERS, PASTRIES, POETRY AND PARTIES!!
St. Antony’s Catholic Primary School has begun its week of celebrations today by honouring those who have come before us and those who are with us today! This milestone is a massive and outstanding achievement: nurturing young minds and developing future leaders who will use their words to teach and their actions to preach!
Today, our festivities began with a very Inspirational Mass in the Parish Church led by Father John Armitage which was filed with words of encouragement and a huge challenge to serve our neighbours. He reminded us that our work with and for our pupils was Kingdom Work and challenged us to nurture the hearts and minds of the future!
Next, was fun on the Bounce-Abouts!! All year groups literally had a spring in their steps as they tried to out-do each other on their Bounce Abouts in EYFS, KS1 and KS2!!
For the day to be the success it was, we must expressive gratitude to Mrs. Moore, out resilient, creative and determined shepherdess who led from the front with pride and dignity and presented a massive party cake for each cohort - dee-licious!! Thanking our creatives: Master Chan and Mrs. Verdant for their energetic and catchy music, songs and dance. Our wonderful, committed, awe-inspiring staff and parents who played a very significant role in leading , motivating and engaging all our truly precious and talented pupils from Viridis to Year 6. We are proud of you!!
Tomorrow, we have our visiting poet as well as a “How Well Do You Know St Antony’s” Quiz. The poet will be conducting writing workshops and sharing some of his outstanding work. Many thanks to our leaders of the Borough of Newham, the Leaders of the Dioceses, the Headteachers of OLOG schools who attended and complimented our school on its stellar performance!! We have a week filled and over-flowing with fun and excitement!!!
