St Antony's SMSC & Citizenship Project 2023
WE ARE IN NEED OF YOUR USUAL GENEROSITY
AND SUPPORT THIS YEAR ...AGAIN!!
ALL THE HELP YOU CAN GIVE US THIS YEAR, TO FEED AND CLOTHES OUR NEIGHBOURS, WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
OUR SMSC & CITIZENSHIP THEME THIS YEAR IS WHO IS MY NEIGHBOUR? WE KNOW THAT OUR NEIGHBOURS ARE THOSE WHO ARE CLOSE TO US AND SHARE THE SAME FAITH AND THOSE WHO ARE WITHIN THE WIDER COMMUNITY WHO ARE OF A DIFFERENT FAITH, CULTURE AND ETHNICITY.
THE STORY OF THE GOOD SAMARITAN CHALLENGES US TO SERVE EVERYONE AND ANYONE IN NEED OF OUR HELP IRRESPECTIVE OF THEIR CULTURAL BACKGROUNDS AND FAITH. WE BELIEVE THAT THE HUMANITY AND DIGINITY OF ALL ARE TO BE GIVEN FIRST PRIORITY! AND THAT IS WHAT WE ARE ENCOURAGED TO DO...FOLLOW JESUS.
WE HAVE A FOOD AND CLOTHES DRIVE BEGINNING THIS FRIDAY, 27TH JANUARY AND ENDING THURSDAY, 9TH FEBRUARY SO THAT WE CAN CARRY OUT OUR PRESENTATIONS TO THESE CHARITIES ON FRIDAY 10TH FEBRUARY WHERE WE WILL BE PRESENTING TO THOSE WHOM WE WILL BE SERVING: FATHER MARCO'S FOOD BANK AND THE MAGPIE WOMEN'S PROJECT WITHIN NEWHAM.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO EVERYONE OF US WHO ARE ALSO FACED WITH CHALLENGES; BUT WILL PLACE OTHERS ABOVE OURSELVES.
Jesus teaches us to love the ’other’ and shows us what this looks like. Reflect on how Jesus draws near to the leper in Matthew 8:1-4, he reaches out and touches the man to heal him. Jesus teaches the proudest of all the Disciples (James and John) that the greatest of leaders must be willing to be a servant to everyone else.
John answered, “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.”
Luke 3:11
THE POWERPOINT TELLS US WHAT EACH CLASS NEEDS TO TAKE IN.
LET US JOIN HANDS AND HEARTS TOGETHER TO SERVE! COME ON, ST. ANTONY'S WE CAN DO THIS!!!
